Using Podium
Podium helps teachers organise and assess classroom debates. It is independent of the World Scholar’s Cup and World Schools organisations. Accounts are intended for adults who can enter a contract, including teachers acting with their school’s permission. Students can participate in supervised debates without creating accounts.
You may use the software for your own teaching and authorised school activities. Keep your account secure, use an email address you control and do not share access commercially, bypass access controls or use the service unlawfully. Accounts support two active sign-in sessions; signing in again can end the oldest session.
Your classroom content
You retain your rights to recordings, notes and reports. Obtain the permissions your school and applicable law require before recording or processing student information. Keep backups and limit sharing to authorised people. Transcripts and AI suggestions can contain errors: review them before using them for assessment. Podium does not replace a teacher’s judgment.
Free and Pro
Free allows three debates per week and four active class folders. Pro is planned at USD $8 per month or $60 per year, with applicable tax added at checkout. Paid checkout is not open yet.
When subscriptions launch, they will renew at the chosen monthly or annual interval unless cancelled. The checkout will show the total, billing interval and applicable terms before payment. Paddle will act as merchant of record and authorised reseller; purchases will also be subject to Paddle’s buyer terms.
Cancellation and access
Once paid subscriptions are available, use the subscription-management link in your receipt or contact Paddle buyer support to cancel future renewals. Cancellation normally keeps access until the end of the paid period; an approved refund can end the associated Pro access sooner. See our refund policy.
After Pro ends, saved debates remain on your computer. If you have more than four classes, choose four active folders. Other folders remain locked until Pro is restored. Cancelling does not delete local files.
Availability and changes
Podium is currently beta software and may contain faults. Internet access is needed for account verification and subscription checks. Features, releases and availability may change; material subscription changes will be communicated before they affect a future renewal. Contact us about problems before relying on Podium for an important class.
Fair use and responsibility
Access may be restricted to address abuse, security threats or non-payment. Where practical we will explain the issue and allow it to be resolved. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude. Mandatory consumer protections remain available. Contact us first if you have a complaint so we can try to resolve it.
